AISIN free wheel hubs allow the front wheels to rotate freely when unlocked from the front axle. This reduces the mechanical resistance of the front portion of the drivetrain when four wheel drive is not in use.

These free wheel hubs are only suitable for vehicles that have manual locking front hubs.
